In order to reach your personal health and fitness goals, the Thibodaux Regional Fitness Center offers a variety of personal training options. You can exercise one-on-one or in pairs with a certified personal trainer.
What makes our personal trainers unique is all of our fitness professionals have a four-year degree in exercise science, so you know you are getting proper advice. They will customize your workouts using various strategies to ensure safe and effective progress. You will receive both instruction & encouragement from your trainer to help you reach your goals.
December Fitness Pro of the Month: Nik Shanklin, CPT
Nik received his Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Exercise science from Millsaps University in Jackson, MS. He also played NCAA football while he was enrolled at Millsaps.
He is a certified personal trainer through the American Council of Exercise. When asked about his exercise philosophy Nik stated, “Run and lift now, so you can run after your grandkids and lift them up for hugs once you get older.”
Nik was inspired to become a personal trainer through the time he spent playing sports and having a personal trainer work with him since he was a kid. He has also spent over 2000 hours shadowing trainers and strength/conditioning coaches while at Millsaps. Nik specializes in strength and sports specific training.
