Designed specifically for teens of all fitness levels, Power Play is more than just a workout program. It is a launchpad for building strength, confidence, and lifelong healthy habits. Whether just getting started or already well into a fitness journey, participants in Power Play are given the tools and training to grow stronger in a supportive, high-energy environment.
Our most recent Power Play program was held from August 5 through August 28 at Thibodaux Regional Fitness Center.
Led by a degreed and certified trainer, Power Play combines indoor and outdoor training to keep workouts fresh and engaging. Sessions feature circuits, strength and flexibility stations, bodyweight exercises, and dynamic plyometrics, all carefully structured to boost both performance and confidence. Beyond building physical strength, Power Play helps teens develop discipline, teamwork, and safe training practices. The program encourages participants to support one another and grow together, rep by rep.
As a trainer at the Fitness Center explains, “The main goal of Power Play is to teach teens how to work out and get them started early on their fitness journeys. A lot of the kids play multiple sports, so they need to learn correct technique to make the transition to high school smoother. Each teen has a standout moment, but one of my favorites is when they realize they can be leaders and help inspire and motivate each other. They are like a family, and they want each other to succeed as much as possible.”
Participants like Tyler and Sawyer echo the program’s impact. Tyler shares, “Working out with friends feels good. They know how to create a challenging workout without making it too much. There are tight requirements for certain activities. If you don’t do them right, serious injuries can occur.” Sawyer adds, “You just have to be careful and listen to your coaches, so you don’t get hurt.” These reflections show how Power Play gives teens the confidence to push themselves while respecting their limits.
Give your teen the opportunity to join us for upcoming sessions of Power Play and grow stronger, more confident, and more connected. We plan to continue this program during upcoming holiday breaks, so watch out for flyers around the center announcing the next start date.
